Oops, Dexter Killed an Innocent November 9, 2009

I totally saw that coming!  Dexter was not his usual self in last night’s episode, going off and killing someone without stalking them first to ensure they were the bad guy.  The photographer he beheaded (pretty brutal!) was too insistent until the end that he had not killed those models, and I believed him.  I kept yelling, “It’s his assistant!  It’s his assistant!” which confused my brother tremendously b/c he thought I was saying that Dexter was accidentally killing the assistant.

One theory at my water cooler this morning is that Trinity is definitely building that coffin for Dexter.  So they’re both on to one another and it’s really a battle of who swings the axe first.  Obviously my money’s on Dexter, but I’m not certain how he’s going to do the Trinity killing — will it be like his regular kills on the table with victim’s pictures hung up?  Or will he need to make it look like an accident?

Dexter Updates: Vacation Killer, Holy Trinity November 2, 2009

I feel so clever for coming up with that “Holy Trinity” quip since we’ve discovered that Arthur Mitchell is, in fact, a church-going man.  My friends and I have been bouncing a lot of theories around about this Lundy killing and who the Vacation Killer actually is.  Well, the Vacation Killer is Johnny Rose and that deadbeat girlfriend.  I was kinda thinking maybe they’d been set up, but they really did kill all those people and admitted to it.

One recent theory that I kinda like was that Quinn was behind all of this.  He has a connection to Deb, so he wouldn’t want her dead.  But I can’t for the life of me strategize as to why he would want Lundy dead.

I personally am still of the belief that the reporter is the shooter, and now that she’s trying to get Deb to give “her side of the story” maybe it’s just another case of blind ambition?  Do reporters shoot people to further their career?  We’ll find out.

What I know more than anything is that Trinity scares the holy bejeez out of me.  And I would like him to get killed right away, but I don’t think that’s happening next week, despite blood on the tip of Dexter’s axe.

A Theory on Dexter October 19, 2009

If you are not caught up on Dexter as of the October 18th episode, I recommend you stop right now before reading this.  Because someone died, and I think I know who that someone’s killer was.  It was of serious debate at water cooler time for the past week, and now I’m going to share my theory with you all.

My Cable’s Back!!! October 6, 2009

Yesterday was a bad day.  My cable and internet went down for 12 hours — yes, 12 hours.  I had to go to my mom’s to watch Gossip Girl (it was kinda lame, and Tyra Banks is probably the worst actress to ever be on that show).  I missed the finale of Rachel Zoe Project altogether (got to catch that tonight) and at 10pm I was finally able to watch Sunday night’s episode of Dexter.

But tonight is going to be better, I can already feel it.  The Hills but not The City (Roxy and Olivia frighten me), Flipping Out, and the rerun of Rachel Zoe Project.  No DWTS or Biggest Loser, but I can promise I’ll be putting up a Biggest Loser recap courtesy of guest author Mini Diva, who gladly fills my shoes in that department.

Also, now that I have Showtime, I have to catch up on Weeds and start watching Californication.  I’m hearing that the latter is a winner.

Where Dexter, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters Left Off September 27, 2009

On Dexter: Rita and Dexter got married, Dexter killed the assistant DA Miguel Prado after sharing his secrets with him, Rita’s pregnant, Deb is dating CI Anton, and Quinn was still sexy.

Dexter-Season-4

On Desperate Housewives: Carlos’ slutty troublemaking niece is moving in with him and Gaby, Lynette is pregnant (with twins), Mike and Susan reunited after Dave kidnapped Susan and MJ and Mike rescued them,  Mike got married to someone and we don’t know who, Bree is attracted to Karl but is being forced to stay with Orson so he doesn’t have her arrested for insurance fraud, and Edie is dead.  Look for a new family with a past to move in.

Endlich wieder Serien-Mittwoch auf ProSieben

On Brothers & Sisters: Kitty was in a car accident while riding with a man she has a crush on that she met on the playground, Kevin is working for Robert and trying to shield his sister from Robert’s political drive, Tommy is staying in Mexico after committing fraud at Ojai, Julia took Elizabeth and moved to Seattle when Tommy left, Rebecca and Justin are engaged, Justin got into med school, and Sarah is back at Ojai.

For the first time in a few days, I have a real answer to that question.  A couple of things, neither of which is really sparking my fancy but I’m going through serious withdrawals so this helps me come down easier.

Real World Cancun.  You know the drill.  8 strangers, live in a hotel, work together, play together, get down together, and throw temper tantrums together.  Last week, Joey went home.  It was both expected and unexpected because all it took was him missing an alarm clock.  Guess it’s not true that everything that happens in Mexico stays there.  Or is that Vegas?

Top Chef Masters.  Please immediately remove Kelly Choi or whatever her name is from television.  She cannot hostess, she looks like she doesn’t eat (not that Padma Lakshmi is much better but she has ZING!) and her personality reminds me of broccoli.  She’s politically correct and nutricious but boring and not in the slightest bit scrumptious.

Other than that, I’m really enjoying my Dexter marathon.  Turns out my husband hates the show so he’s not watching with me after all but he isn’t easily engaged by anything that isn’t animated or 3-D.  Thus, he is the wrong audience and I will continue thoroughly relishing the show by myself.

What’s On Tonight: Tuesday, 8/4 August 4, 2009

Well, it’s Shark Week on Discovery so quite a few things there.  I have several shows sitting on my DVR right now, plus some others being added: Great White Shark Uncaged, Prowling for Sharks in the Mediterranean, Shark Battlefield, Shark Attack, Mysteries of the Shark Coast, and so on.  We watched the Survivorman episode last night where Les Stroud counted down the top 5 most shark-infested waters and my husband asked me to guess what #1 would be.  For whatever reason, I guessed Florida.  He guessed Australia.  I fell asleep before seeing the end but he informed me today that Australia was second and Florida first.  It turns out I’m a secret shark genius.

Also on tonight is Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood and it’s the much-touted (in the press at least) season finale.  So far we’ve had mom Candy accuse Tori of using her children for the sake of the show and sending in an RSVP that she would be at baby Stella’s first birthday party, which would also be her first introduction to the child.  Tori has really taken the high road and although she discusses issues with her mother on the show, she hasn’t written open letters to the press about their relationship, unlike her mother.  We already know Candy doesn’t show up, but you’ll get to see meager Tori’s heart get broken once more.  Despite all that nonsense, Tori and Dean appear to have a great, solid marriage and two freaking adorable children that I can’t get enough of.  Some might be in love with Stella, but right now my eyes are on Liam.  It’s been so fun to watch him grow up and come into a personality over the past few years and I hope we get the same opportunity with little Stella.

I’ve also heard that Miami Social is pretty delish, but I think I give Bravo enough of my viewership for the time being and in upcoming months it will only get worse with the premieres of Flipping Out, Top Chef Las Vegas, and Rachel Zoe Project.  I swore a while back that I wouldn’t invest myself in either NYC Prep or Miami Social and I’ve lived up to my word and not watched one single episode.  I’m proud because there isn’t much I say “no” to!

I’ve invested in the Blockbuster online rental service to catch my husband up on Dexter, which is truly a brilliant show and one of the few I think he’ll enjoy watching with me.  So far we only have It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Office.

That’s what’s on my radar tonight!

dexter1In case you weren’t aware, Dexter is one of the most compelling dramas to exist on TV in a very long time.  Not only does Michael C. Hall give homicidal rage the perfect warm-and-fuzzy vibe, he’s like a vigilante’s wet dream.  At this week’s Comic Con, some new footage for Season 4 premiered.  If you haven’t seen it, I can’t stress enough what an amazing show it is.  It’s worth the astronomical $20 per month that Showtime charges.  If you don’t want to spring for that, go rent a season through Netflix, watch it illegally online — I don’t care how you see it, just do!

Watch a preview reel for Dexter Season 4 HERE.  Season premiere: September 27.  After last season’s fabulous casting of  Jimmy Smits I thought they would have difficulty topping themselves, but John Lithgow promises to be an amazing addition as the most successful serial killer ever.  Dexter makes murder look so very appealing; almost like a good deed.

Putting the Premieres Into One Post July 9, 2009

How does that sound?  I can’t keep bouncing back and forth talking about all the different networks and the offerings they will soon have for us, so I’m putting all MY shows (and some that I know are favorites but that I personally don’t watch) down right now.
