Putting the Premieres Into One Post July 9, 2009

How does that sound?  I can’t keep bouncing back and forth talking about all the different networks and the offerings they will soon have for us, so I’m putting all MY shows (and some that I know are favorites but that I personally don’t watch) down right now.

Sooo Behind and it’s all Because of Dane Cook May 18, 2009

UPDATE: CHUCK RENEWED FOR 13 EPISODES (AT MINIMUM) IN 3RD SEASON!

I wish I could say that Dane and I had a late-night rendezvous, causing me to miss many pertinent television programs.  And that’s kind of what happened, but not quite.  I saw Dane live last night and was too tired to watch the Desperate Housewives finale!  I’m trying to avoid the tv blogs today so I don’t accidentally find out what happened.

So on top of DH, my DVR has on the roster: Dancing with the Stars finale, Bachelorette premiere, Gossip Girl finale, and a new Hills episode.  Just looked at poll on US Magazine’s website and based on the votes, Gilles and Shawn are the favorites to win DWTS;  Melissa had a mere 15% of the total.  Gossip Girl is my #1 priority, and Jillian will kick off the Bachelorette with 30 guys to choose from rather than the standard 25.  Basically, I have hours upon hours of tv to watch tonight, a husband to feed, and laundry to do.  How will I make it all work?!  May have to save Bachelorette for another night this week.  And tomorrow my soon-to-be favorite cast of Real Housewives (Joisey) will give me something to be thankful for — that I’m not related to Dina and Caroline by blood or marriage.  Bravorific: saw a promo for Top Chef Masters, beginning June 17!  Read on for Daisy of Love recap.

Update: Will Chuck Be Saved? May 10, 2009

Chuck was spared from the ax of death, but the bad news is that it won’t return until May 2010 and it’s for a reduced season of only 13 episodes.  Despite that, it’s not gone forever!  Rejoice, Chuckers!

Still no word on Chuck and the hopes for a Season 3.  I just began watching a week ago and as expected, I’m hooked.  There were many petitions etc. going on to save Bartwoski for another round, and things are still looking good.  We should expect an answer on Monday, May 11.  Chuck is, in my honest opinion, the most lovable nerd on TV, and even if NBC is dumb enough to lose him (hello, flashback to their loss of Friday Night Lights!) then I’m certain another network will pick the series up.  And give the guy a better night while you’re at it!  He competes with many other popular programs and deserves less heat.

10 Television Shows YOU Should Own (or Rent) April 18, 2009

When there isn’t a show to blog about on the weekend, and I haven’t seen a movie to review, I am going to do what VH1 has exacerbated: a Top 10 list!  (They usually do Top 100 but I don’t have that kind of time, energy, or the need to tell you about 100 shows you should own on DVD). Here they are!

1.  Lost — this show is hella confusing but fascinating.  I personally began watching it after the first two seasons had already aired, and I got them through Netflix over Christmas break and was immediately hooked.  Because the plot is convoluted, and because so much happens in a single episode that you need to remember when moving on to the next, you almost have to watch it on DVD in order to figure out what’s going on.  Currently in its fifth season.

2.  Weeds — don’t start this until you can sit down to watch many episodes back to back.  Nancy Botwin is an adorable, recently-widowed mother of two involved in the marijuana trade.  Her friends are what makes this show hilarious, though.  Andy, Doug, Celia, Dean, Conrad, and the rest make it worth watching.  However, the cliffhangers between seasons will leave you dying to know what’s up next, so either rent or buy many seasons at once.  Season 5 debuts June 8th on Showtime.
