Get in line here!

I’ve never been a big fan of Susan.  The big doe eyes and grasshopper-like legs don’t really do it for me.  So, here’s where things are on Wisteria Lane: after Angie filled Susan’s ear with doubt on what Katherine’s alibi was for the night of Julie’s strangling, Susan went to the cops.  They didn’t take her seriously, but a female detective from Susan’s high school days sort of did.  Well, enough to hear Susan out and then go befriend Katherine because of their mutual dislike.

As usual, Gaby stole the show with the homeschooling issues.  Just when you thought she just didn’t have the patience to do it, she goes and admits that it is ruining her relationship with Juanita and cries on Carlos’ tie — but mostly she cried about the fact that he wouldn’t let her keep the housekeeper.  Next week, she tries desperately to get Juanita into Catholic school.  Now, what the hell happened to their niece, Anna?  She has disappeared for the past couple of episodes.

“My Daughter is Dying” Sunday October 5, 2009

ABC is really bringing on the emotional storylines!  Though Desperate Housewives doesn’t pull off the tragedy of it all quite like Brothers & Sisters.

Here’s my thoughts on the Kitty storyline: they’re killing off all the Repubs!  Last year it was Tommy and they sure hyped it up that Robert was going to die, now Kitty has lymphoma.  Also, they must be trying to win an Emmy for either Calista Flockhart or Sally Field and cancer or death is always a top pick.  Nora already has my vote; I was bawling my eyes out last night!

DH — Gaby makes that show.  That’s all I have to say.  She provides the necessary comedic relief and she has the best spunk.  Here’s the skinny on Julie’s killer if you missed it: everyone suspects the new kid, Danny Bolen.  So much so that his parents have hired an attorney and encouraged him to ask Gaby’s niece to lie and say they were together as his alibi.  But to make it the new, mysterious kid is too easy!  I’m wondering if it could be Katherine since she’s gone over the edge and she used it as a chance to visit Mike and come on to him, but that’s nuts even for her.  Most likely, it’s the guy whose baby Julie thought she was pregnant with, and I don’t think that’s Danny.

P.S. Regarding B&S, I hate loathe despise that Ryan Lafferty.  He needs to go away soon, but he’s obviously wreaking havoc on Ojai Foods first.

Q&A on Season Premiere of Desperate Housewives September 27, 2009

If you didn’t see the premiere of Desperate Housewives, you may have a few questions about what happened.

Q: Who did Mike marry?

A: For the second time, Mike and Susan tied the knot.

Q: In light of that, how did Katherine take the news?

A: Long story short, not well.  She’s going a bit crazy, in fact.  She held Susan’s dress hostage near a bubbling pot of spaghetti sauce, she turned up at their wedding and demanded a public apology after the ceremony, she’s been staring at Susan a lot from across the street, and she basically admitted to being completely unglued.  More to come, as she clearly hasn’t accepted things and will continue making things difficult for them.

Q: Lynette is pregnant with twins!  What more did we learn about the upcoming babies?

A: Poor Lynette.  She couldn’t be any less thrilled about babies 5 & 6.  So upset is she that she is turning other pregnant women against motherhood and sobbed to Tom that even though she fell in love with the other 4 as soon as she found out they were coming, she doesn’t love these just yet.  The big question is whether or not she’s going to go through with this.

Where Dexter, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters Left Off September 27, 2009

On Dexter: Rita and Dexter got married, Dexter killed the assistant DA Miguel Prado after sharing his secrets with him, Rita’s pregnant, Deb is dating CI Anton, and Quinn was still sexy.

Dexter-Season-4

On Desperate Housewives: Carlos’ slutty troublemaking niece is moving in with him and Gaby, Lynette is pregnant (with twins), Mike and Susan reunited after Dave kidnapped Susan and MJ and Mike rescued them,  Mike got married to someone and we don’t know who, Bree is attracted to Karl but is being forced to stay with Orson so he doesn’t have her arrested for insurance fraud, and Edie is dead.  Look for a new family with a past to move in.

Endlich wieder Serien-Mittwoch auf ProSieben

On Brothers & Sisters: Kitty was in a car accident while riding with a man she has a crush on that she met on the playground, Kevin is working for Robert and trying to shield his sister from Robert’s political drive, Tommy is staying in Mexico after committing fraud at Ojai, Julia took Elizabeth and moved to Seattle when Tommy left, Rebecca and Justin are engaged, Justin got into med school, and Sarah is back at Ojai.

Putting the Premieres Into One Post July 9, 2009

How does that sound?  I can’t keep bouncing back and forth talking about all the different networks and the offerings they will soon have for us, so I’m putting all MY shows (and some that I know are favorites but that I personally don’t watch) down right now.

Sopranos Whore the New Desperate Whore? June 29, 2009

Drea de Matteo, best known for her role on The Sopranos as Christopher Moltisanti’s big-haired fiancee Adriana la Cerva, has been cast as the newest vixen to grace the streets of Wisteria Lane.

ADRIANNA

Adriana was shot in the woods after tattling to the Feebies in season 6, so we can only hope for her sake that if she does experience an exit from Desperate Housewives, it’s far more pleasant than that one!

Sooo Behind and it’s all Because of Dane Cook May 18, 2009

UPDATE: CHUCK RENEWED FOR 13 EPISODES (AT MINIMUM) IN 3RD SEASON!

I wish I could say that Dane and I had a late-night rendezvous, causing me to miss many pertinent television programs.  And that’s kind of what happened, but not quite.  I saw Dane live last night and was too tired to watch the Desperate Housewives finale!  I’m trying to avoid the tv blogs today so I don’t accidentally find out what happened.

So on top of DH, my DVR has on the roster: Dancing with the Stars finale, Bachelorette premiere, Gossip Girl finale, and a new Hills episode.  Just looked at poll on US Magazine’s website and based on the votes, Gilles and Shawn are the favorites to win DWTS;  Melissa had a mere 15% of the total.  Gossip Girl is my #1 priority, and Jillian will kick off the Bachelorette with 30 guys to choose from rather than the standard 25.  Basically, I have hours upon hours of tv to watch tonight, a husband to feed, and laundry to do.  How will I make it all work?!  May have to save Bachelorette for another night this week.  And tomorrow my soon-to-be favorite cast of Real Housewives (Joisey) will give me something to be thankful for — that I’m not related to Dina and Caroline by blood or marriage.  Bravorific: saw a promo for Top Chef Masters, beginning June 17!  Read on for Daisy of Love recap.

…How much more embarrassed could she get?!”    Desperate Housewives is truly a classic, and imho, it only keeps getting better.  And the reason is Gaby.  Her quips, one-liners, snarky comebacks, and feisty yet lovable back-and-forth with Carlos are what make this show continually perky.  A woman has never made vain and spoiled look so damn cute.  They can afford to lose an Edie, maybe even a Katherine or a Susan, but they couldn’t survive without Gaby.  She didn’t disappoint this evening — the last episode before this season’s finale.  Here’s hoping they wrap up this Dave business once and for all.

Macarroon or Beating with Dead Squirrel? May 3, 2009

Macaroons. Not dead squirrels.

That may seem like an odd question to you, but there is relevance.  MJ Delfino likes macaroons, and is bribed into inviting a boy who hit him with a dead squirrel to a sleepover with a whole plate of macaroons, once a week –promised by the fantasy housewife Bree Hodge.  Who’s now out to protect a fortune.  In happier news, Susan got proposed to by Jackson.  Just not in the way that you think.  He needs a visa, how depressing.  She offers the marriage, without love or sex.  Like a proper marriage should be!
